Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as sailors – Sports quota entry – 1/2012 Batch
Sports Disciplines : Outstanding sportsmen who have participated at International/National / State level in Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing (Bantam, light, light welter and middle weight categories only), Best physique (80,85, 100 and above 100 Kg weight categories only), Cricket, Golf, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting (85,94,105 and above 105 weight categories only), Wrestling ( GR 55, 60, 66, 84, 96 kgs & FS 96 and 120 Kgs weight categories only), Squash and Tennis.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
(a) Direct Entry Petty Officer :
Educational Qualifications. 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Profiency.
Team Games : Should have represented a state in Nationals either at junior /senior level or represented a University in the Inter Univerisity tournament.
Individual Events. Should have attained a minimum of 6th positions in Nationals (seniors) or 3rd position in National (juniors) or 3rd position in the Inter Univerisity meets.
Age: 17 to 22 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1990 to 31 Jan 1995 (Both dates inclusive)
(b) Senior Secondary Recruitment(SSR) :
Educational Qualifications. 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Profiency :Should have represented state /National level.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1991 to 31 Jan 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
(c) Matric Recruits(MR):
Educational Qualifications. 10th /equivalent qualified.
Sports Profiency : Should have represented state /National level.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Apr 1991 to 31 Mar 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Candidates selected will be enrolled as COOKS or STEWARDS
(d) Non Matric Recruits(NMR) :
Educational Qualifications. Passed VI th standard.
Sports Profiency : Should have represented state /National level.
Age:17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Apr 1991 to 31 Mar 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Candidates selected will be enrolled as SAFAIWALA
