- Qualifications : First-class graduates with minimum aggregate average of 70% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Architecture from a recognized University/Institute are eligible to apply. The candidates should have qualified in GATE 2011 or 2012. Final year students who will secure the eligible degree before the commencement of the course can also apply.

- Age Limit : Not more than 28 years as on 31-07-2012.
- Pay Scale : For the one year course, CMRL will pay the candidates a stipend of Rs. 20000/- per month and also the necessary sponsorship and tuition fees to IIT Madras.
Application Fee : The candidates will have to enclose a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- for General & OBC candidates and for Rs. 50/- for SC/ST candidates (for processing cost only) along with application form drawn in favour of Chennai Metro Rail Ltd, payable at Chennai indicating on the reverse of the DD, their name, address and telephone no., if any.
